Part of our wildlife research in Rhode Island is a state-wide trail camera survey. Our amazing network of landowners, land trusts, conservation commissions, and state lands promote the success of this long-term survey and we could not do it without all of our partners. The data that we collect allows us to understand where different species occur, some of their habits, and get a general understanding of how our species' populations are holding up across the state. This information informs our state agency about management decisions, such as bag limits on furbearer species or implementation of habitat restoration projects, that help our wild neighbors to continue thriving in our natural spaces.
Below is a collection of some of our favorite photos from our trail camera survey in Rhode Island over the past few years. Enjoy!
